Hoodstock 2011 - June 25…LA’s Original FunkFest is Back!

In honor of Prince’s birthday, RobLives4Love presents this artifact from October 23, 1999 - the greatest guitar solo EVER.
This is wicked SICK!!! I miss the NPG Music Club days when Prince would offer downloads of unreleased jam sessions like this for his fans. I suppose he ultimately felt betrayed by the all the widespread distribution.
Thanks for posting this roblives4love!

Rolling Stone Celebrates Prince’s 53rd

By Rolling Stone
June 7, 2011 8:35 AM ETPrince, one of the great icons of Eighties pop and beyond, turns 53 today. To celebrate the occasion, Rolling Stone is sharing a classic Prince cover story from the archives, a set of photo galleries documenting the singer’s recent concerts in New York City and Los Angeles and ?uestlove’s list of his Top 15 favorite Prince jams.
In “Prince Reclaims His Crown,” our cover story from 2004, writer Anthony DeCurtis goes behind the scenes of the singer’s Musicology tour, which reestablished Prince as a commercial and artistic force after years of retreating from the spotlight following his departure from Warner Bros. Records. This period set the stage for the Prince of today – a brilliant entertainer who plays epic hits-centric shows for arenas full of rabid fans from around the world.

Big Ups To The Doctor! (@drfunkenberry)
I have to give major props to my new found cyber aquaintance Dr. Funkenberry (follow him on Twitter @drfunkenberry), the world wide web’s master physician of all things funky!
An avid follower of Prince and “Purple Cirlce” insider, the Doc just got word that he was mentioned in Jason Draper’s new Prince biography, Prince: Chaos, Disorder, and Revolution. He is credited with being the first to reveal that Prince would give away his new 20TEN cd in a Belgium newspaper last July.
Congrats, Doc! keep up the great work :)
